Shyt every game is very winnable for that program. Awesome accomplishment no doubt.
The UConn women's basketball team ties the UCLA men's basketball team with their 88th consecutive win today over top 10 ranked Ohio State.
Next up to break the record is a game vs. Florida State, a very winnable game.

Central Warriors. Respect the past, embrace the future
Auriemma's comments yesterday just make me want to see them lose even more. I really haven't seen anyone downing them for being women breaking a men's record. It was just an attempt IMO for him to draw more attention to himself.

He didn't say anyone was downing them, he said that if it were just a womens record, no one would care and it wouldn't have any attention. But he said that because it's a mens record, everyone's paying attention, even the ones that are not so happy because it's women breaking a mens record. Didn't hear him say that there was all this **** talk about them.
No I didn't see that, and thats not right. Its also laughable at the people who think UCONN could beat those UCLA teams, and I have heard that. Auriemma was calling people *******s, and the reality is, those people don't give a darn about the whole thing.

average high school teams in Alaska would beat UConn women by 20

thats ridiculous, unless Alaska hs bball is way better than I know lol.
i think state-title caliber teams beat UConn women soundly, but I think an LPD team would get smashed by them. I think a team like last year's Lebanon team would be almost equal, slightly better than UConn women.
and Stripes, Gumbel was being a serious douche. He went out of his way to down the UConn women's accomplishment, when they have defeated more top 10 teams in their streak than UCLA did, and did it by 20 ppg.
but no, the UCLA men would beat them by 100 if they wanted to

Yeah, they had 15 guys they used to practice against last year. Guys that probably couldn't make the team at UVA-Wise or E&H who would beat them 35% of the time according to the guys and the coaching staff. And those guys aren't being coached. I would bet Henry Bibby, Bill Walton and Jamall Wilkes today with a couple of their other old teammates would beat them by 70.

**** you take Jamall Wilks and Bill Walton plus three kids playing at Pound, and they beat UConn women by 10+ now.
the games are so different, the physicality is so much more intense on the mens side.
but i dont think an average HS team can beat them. Great teams would, but Pound (no offense guys) or Clintwood would get beat by UConn by a reasonable margin.
